We are running a GUNDOG DAY on April 24th. The day will consist of two half-day sessions, a beginners class from 9.00 to 12.30, and a follow-on class for anyone who has attended a previous Beginners Class, from 1.30 to 5.00. Each half-day session is £20 for dog and handler, payable in advance. Spectator only places are £8 per person. The Beginners Class will include directional commands, finding and retrieving articles and teaching an instant stop, all using positive training methods with toys and treats for motivation. The follow-on class will be a quick run-through and then progression in the various elements.
If you have a gun-dog this could be an ideal 'beginners taster day' or it could be a 'fun time-out' for you and your dog - of any breed. Either way you are ensured a friendly day out in the fresh air! Please nore; your dog must be eager to reterive an article to get the most out of your session.
On Wednesday 26th May, Nicky Junemann KCAI will be taking a FIRST AID TRAINING SEMINAR evening. The session will start at 6.30 when we will be serving home-made cakes with tea and coffee. There will be a prompt start of the talk at 7.00 followed by a practical session. Tickets are £18 per person with dog. Spaces with dogs are limited to 16. Without your dog, tickets are £10 per person.
We have a welcome return visit by local Vet and Behaviourist, AMBER BATSON, on Wednesday 16th June. She is giving an illustrated talk Beyond Dominance' which gives a fresh look at the dog/human relationship - dispelling the myth of dominance. There will be a prompt 7.00 start, an interval for tea and cakes, and the evening will finish at 9.30 with a question and answer session. Tickets are £7.50 each (no dogs please).
